The old-world charm really captivated me during my stay. I appreciated the beautifully kept gardens and original features that made me feel like I was in a grand, historic home. The staff were very accommodating, especially with my dietary requests. I did notice that the hot water in the shower was a bit weak.

Perfect for a family gathering
Let me tell you, the staff were absolutely great, especially that Elliot fella. He helped carry my father's luggage and even managed the bar all night for the wake without losing his cool, if ya know what I mean.
Wasn't exactly a budget option, but worth it for what we got.

No nonsense – just the truth
If you're searching for a traditional hotel experience, be warned – issues abound. Noise disturbances can keep you up, while cleanliness raises concerns, especially in the bathrooms. Some staff were accommodating, and breakfast boasted tasty options, but the dated decor and poor maintenance left much to be desired. Proceed with caution if you still decide to stay!

Unique historical charm, beautiful garden views, cozy common areas
The entire property could benefit from a full remodel with peeling wallpaper, worn carpets, and outdated bathroom fixtures!!! addressing noise issues from events and kitchen fans would greatly enhance comfort during stays!!!

Charming historic ambiance throughout the property.
Heating in the rooms struggled to keep it warm enough.

It was just a nice choice for a brief hiatus in Alloa with great value for the money. The staff, especially Mary in the bar, were super friendly and made the night enjoyable. For a budget stay, don’t expect luxury, but enjoy the character of the place.

The building exudes Victorian charm with stunning original features, creating a homely atmosphere. the dining options were disappointing as the main courses did not meet expectations, and there was evidence of dampness in our room. The cozy lounge area was a highlight, but it was difficult to overlook some maintenance issues.

I really enjoyed the cozy, comfy vibes of the compact double room, and the breakfast had some nice options to start the day. There’s a lovely garden area to unwind and relax. A chilled-out leisure room perfect for catching a movie. The only minor downside was the occasional dog mess left around, but it didn't ruin my experience at all. 😊
